Linking Genital Herpes with IVF Treatment

from:

Herpes is a genital disease that is caused by the virus herpes simplex virus type 2. This condition is characterized by the growth of painful blisters. Sores and blister may be found in areas covering the genitals of men and women, the mouth and the rectal area.

Infection will start with the contact of areas where the virus resides. This disease is highly contagious so it would largely benefit a person to refrain from sexual intercourse if he or she and/or his partner have herpes. The optimum state of its spread is when the sores are mature. However, it can also spread even without the blisters. So it is good to note that you might as well cause infection for other people even if you do not display obvious signs of symptoms yourself.

The virus will penetrate your skin and will start reproducing. Some may lie dormant for a number of months, years and even for eternity. There are too many cases that some individuals are too unlucky as to not to know that they are contaminated with the virus. This is mainly due to the absence of symptoms that will characterize the disease. On the other hand, there are cases where the symptoms are prominent that the infected individual must be given immediate relief.

Although a virus causes herpes, it may also be considered a chronic condition. This is due to the reason that once a person becomes infected, he will have to endure the condition for the rest of his life. There is no cure for a condition such as this. However, for most of the time, the virus is inactive and resides only in the nerve cells surrounding the spinal column. But when the virus is activated, it will show symptoms which will be prominent with the appearance of blisters and sores. This will continue for as long as the virus returns to its inactive state.

The onset of blisters may be caused by physical stresses such as specific illnesses, tight clothings and insufficient lubrication during sexual intercourse. Menstruation and emotional stress may also help aggravate the condition.

The worse part is that the virus infection will never leave your body and there are no medications developed yet to help them leave you. But for the present, the only best solution is to prevent the symptoms from becoming obvious. This will also help shorten the period of possible communicability.

Viruses are different from bacteria. The former usually doesn't respond to any medications and antibiotics so there are presently no best treatment for genital herpes. What we have now in the market are selections of items that may help relieve the symptoms of the infection.

There is too little information that may link herpes with in vitro fertilization.

IVF is a high-tech procedure that allows the conception of a child when the parents are infertile. This lack of data maybe due to insufficient studies on the field. It may also be that there are too insignificant cases that may need thorough evaluation of the conditions wherein in vitro fertilization and herpes are connected.

To help you with this topic, it is best to consult the IVF facility of the guidelines on how to undergo the procedure given that you are infected with genital herpes. However, for pregnant women with active herpes infection, they are often advised to undergo cesarean operations to help eliminate the possibility of passing the virus with the child.
