IVF Embryo Transfer- Taking the Process One at a Time

Prior to IVF embryo transfer operation, the eggs are collected from the female host and sperm cells from the male host. Normally, females release a monthly rate of one egg. However, with the aid of hormone injections ovaries are incited to produce as much egg as the reproductive system will allow. The number and shapes of eggs varies from person to person which, is determined largely by the biological capability of the woman and her genetical make-up. The egg retrieval operation is known to be more complex than the IVF embryo transfer is. Timing is the essential factor in the egg retrieval and extreme care will help decide the products of nursing the eggs inside the female's body.



Afterwards, the female participant will be checked for the maturity of the egg cells. Once they reach the ideal maturity, they will be taken to help facilitate clinical fertilization. IVF embryo transfer is considered to be the final and the simplest stage when undergoing in vitro fertilization. The aim of which is to facilitate conception after the clinical fertilization of the egg and the sperm cells. This process may take only around 15 to 30 minutes.



To be able to conduct embryo transfer, the patient will be subjected to abdominal sonographic guidance, which requires a semi-full bladder. After the in vitro embryo transfer, the female patient is required to rest for up to two hours. She will then be injected with HCG to aid the ovaries in producing the necessary quantity of progesterone, a vital component in the embryonic implantation phase. Rarely, she will be asked to personally administer injections of the same hormone or she may allow her husband to do this process for her on the specific periods that the doctor prescribed.



During the 24 hours following the surgery, she will have to be in the resting state. All rigorous activities are prohibited.



Afterwhich, she may come resume her normal activities and may even come back to work. Unlike with the common perception of people who have take in vitro fertilization, no amount of activity or food may affect, either in the positive or negative way, the product of the whole process. In actuality, the outcome will only be dependent on the genetic quality of the fertilized eggs.



The patient can really do nothing to influence the result because by nature, conception is a natural process and it will take its own course as it would do in the normal process of fertilization. It must be understood though that after the embryo transfer, science can do nothing to dictate what result would come up. Almost without exemption, nature will only select those embryos that have perfect genetic make-ups so as to help maximize the probability of a successful births.
