Signs of Male Infertility

from:

While there are cases where male infertility may not manifest right away, most cases of male infertility are symptomatic. The male himself is often the best judge whether he is showing signs of infertility or not. For guidelines however the following is a list of signs that should be checked out just to be on the brighter side of fertility.

When you have had regular unprotected sex for over a year and the wife has not conceived there is a big chance of a fertility disorder. Most cases could be remedied immediately when you check with an Urologist. Your failure to conceive could be a sign of an underlying condition of infertility.

Swollen testes this is a case where the testicles are swollen. The testicles are where the male sperm cells are stored before the penis discharges it. Swollen testicles or epididymitis will have several causes and it will definitely pose a risk in fertility.

Undescended testes should be corrected by surgery. if it is not treated, the scrotal sac will feel empty and may be indicative of cryptorchidism.

Underneath the penis is a tube like passage where the sperm passes when being discharged. This is called the vas deferens. If you do not feel this passage, there will be no way that the sperm could be ejaculated. Talk to your physician.

The vas deferens could also blocked for various reasons including infections, vasectomy and other physical disorders.

When you have undergone a vasectomy and want to regain your fertility back, a good move is to do it as soon as you can. Delaying the restoration lessens the chances of regaining the fertility. When the time from the vasectomy procedure to the time that it is restored is within three years, the male will have a 70% chance of conceiving again. Delaying the restoration to say fifteen years will decrease the chance to 30%. Reversals in vasectomy are not always successful. Sometimes, this could result into developing blockages and azoospermia.

If you have been involved in sports and other strenuous activities or have been involved in an accident where the genital area suffered a trauma, there is a big probability that the trauma has caused a more lasting injury in your genitalia. The testes could have suffered a hard blow that would result in an abnormality or the cord that hold the testicles may have been twisted. Either way, this could negatively affect its sperm production capability.

Infections could also cause sterility especially those that are caused by sexual transmissions (STD’s).

Having a congenital heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and certain forms of illnesses also causes infertility.

Not being able to maintain an erection will result into not penetrating the vagina deep enough to cause pregnancy.

Varicoceles are the varicose veins that are sometimes developed in the veins of the testicles. Developing varicose veins will negatively affect the blood flow to the testes that in turn could hamper if not stop altogether the production of the sperm.

This is a varicosity, or varicose vein in the testicle. The varicosity damages the blood flow to the testes, making sperm production slowed or stopped.
While the treatments and outlook for these causes of infertility in men differ, there may be treatment options for you. Be sure to talk to your doctor or reproductive endocrinologist about what outlook and treatment is best in your case.

When you have doubts regarding you fertility and wants to find out, the most convenient way in looking for signs are through fertility test kits that are available in any drugstore or in the web. This fertility test kits will tell you about your sperm count and the motility of your sperm. If sperm density and motility falls under the norm, you should seek professional attention.
