California Male Infertility: Symptoms

from:

Many couples today especially in the more developed countries have the tendency to delay pregnancy. That is well and good. That is a choice. However when the reason that arises from the failure to conceive after about one year of regular intercourse, or when there is a failure to keep an erection or lack of interests and urges, that may well be an entirely different issue altogether.

While the inability of the female to get pregnant might be caused by the infertility of either of the party or both, females could always have their checkups and will have a wider array of treatments, most of which have undergone through years of development and studies. With the male, that could be another story. Until recently, the failure of conceiving a child in couples has been suspected to be caused by the female. Not anymore.

As mentioned, the most tangible symptoms of infertility in a couple is the failure to conceive after months of regular unprotected sex. But there are symptoms of male infertility that could easily be detected.

The Vas Deferens

One of them is the absence of a vas deferens. The vas deferens is the tube-like duct under the penis. This is where the sperm passes from the testicles to the shaft of the penis and outside of it. Without the vas deferens, no conception by the natural method will be possible. This disorder however could already be corrected by surgery.

Hypogonadism and hypothyroidism
These are imbalances in the hormones that severely affect the normal development of the testes. One of this is the failure to produce sperm. Other factors that could also affect the hormonal balances are certain kinds of treatments like radiation therapy and chemotherapy.

Absence of testicles in the scrotum
A person who cannot feel testicles in his scrotum may have undecended testicles. This is a condition where the testicles do not drop to the scrotum.

Obesity
Extreme obesity could be caused by a lot of different factors. Nonetheless, extreme obesity effects the performance of the genitalia.

Harmful substances
When you have been using substances that could harm your physical well being and has difficulty in conceiving, then those substances could also be the cause.

Injury
When you have been receiving blows to the testicle either through athletics or accidents and you have not made you wife pregnant, you should seriously consider talking to a physician. There are injuries to the testicles wherein the cord that holds the testes has been twisted resulting to failure in the production of sperm or the testicles itself suffered a trauma.

Diabetic neuropathy
This is a condition wherein there are problems in ejaculation or maintaining an erection.

Varicoceles are the varicose veins in the testicular area.

Diseases
Diseases could develop immune disorders that could produce antibodies that attacks the sperm for example: liver disease, sickle cell anemia, kidney disease, genital infections acquired through herpes and gonorrhea. Prostatitis and Epididymitis and other infections in the reproductive organs infectious diseases and in rare cases, mumps. Other symptoms for male infertility would include: down syndrome, testicular torsion, congenital heart disease and diabetes

Infertility could be congenital, acquired or partial but if your fertility is an issue to you as it often is to most couples, it may is best to consult your Urologist.
